Lots of new faces throughout the club ranks

As we get close to the start of matches we are pleased to announce that South African Connor Foley will be joining us for the 2022 WEPL campaign.

Connor is a promising young cricketer who is a bowling all-rounder who bowls medium fast and is known to be a top fielder. His input will help the 1st XI in this years WEPL campaign and we know he will help others develop their games. Connor holds a CSA level 1 coaching certificate (ECB level 2 equivalent) and will be aiding Wayne and the coaching team this year. We look forward to welcoming Connor to the club on Tuesday - if you see him please say hello and make him feel welcome.

Alongside Connor, this winter the first XI squad have also welcomed Daniel Williams from Gorsienon in Wales and Keron Bennett-Thomas from nearby Goatacre. Parents may already have met Daniel, who is also a qualified coach (working for Berkshire Cricket) and will be working in our youth setup.

Alongside the above we have also welcomed a number of new faces to indoor nets, including Rohitaswa Bhattacharya, Mayank Gahlot, Satish Gokara, Atin Gupta and David Howel (apologies if I have missed anyone). We have also spotted a couple of returning players sneaking in for a net....

All the above sets us up for a great season ahead. New faces plus those from within the club and graduating through our youth ranks is exciting and we hope this translates into enjoyable, competitive cricket.

Here's to a great season ahead!
