At the end of the 2024 season the club are proud to again share that a number of our incredible volunteer team have been recognised with nominations and shortlisting’s for Wiltshire Cricket Grassroot Cricket Awards, which looks to recognise the unsung heroes of cricket in Wiltshire.

The club would love to nominate everyone that gives there time up for the club, in whatever capacity, but unfortunately that is not possible. Every volunteers efforts are appreciated and celebrated by the clubs committee and members, and I hope that you can all join me in congratulating our 2024 nominees.

• Keron Bennett-Thomas in the ‘The Metro Bank Champion of Girls’ Cricket Award’ category, recognising his work in establishing the SCC women’s setup in 2024.
• Blaine Norridge, our Treasurer, in the ‘Unsung Hero’ category, recognising his continued work behind the scenes in managing the clubs finances.
• Sam Wiles, in the ‘Game Changer’ category, recognising his continued commitment to the club in relation to coaching our members, coaching in the community and leading the U19s.
• Seniru Fernando in the ‘Young Coach’ category, recognising his commitment to getting a UK coaching qualification and coaching on a Friday night.
• A collective nomination for our volunteer grounds team who support Kevin, recognising the incredibly large volume of work they undertake so we can all enjoy the County Ground.

While we don't yet know whether our nominations will take home the awards at the ceremony held on 6th November, it was felt that we should take this opportunity to recognise those shortlisted, alongside the other wonderful and appreciated volunteers we have at the club.
